RIDGIDConnect has just been recently launched and if you haven’t signed up yet, you may want to after reading what I have to say. Let me first start by saying that I have been using RIDGID tools since I was around 17.5 years old when I started working with pumps, plumbing and commercial steam systems. I was actually a pump mechanics helper when I first used a RIDGID pipe wrench. Fast forwarding 19 years, I am now retired from the actual plumbing field but now, I run this website, along with a few others that are all related to swimming pools, pumps and plumbing. In the summer time, I still run a small swimming pool company and we open, close and clean swimming pools, I just have to get out there and be dirty for a bit in the day, who knows, maybe its just a guy thing.

So now that you know a bit about me and realize that this is not just some commercially written article, let me tell you why I think RIDGIDConnect is awesome. Let me first ask you this. Do you store your hand tools and possibly your power tools in a tool box? If you do, then you obviously realize that a toolbox is a great way to protect your tools which are an asset to your business. Well. RIDGIDConnect is your virtual toolbox for all of your virtual and digital assets with a whole bunch of other bells and whistles that will help your business grow and honestly might even save you money, along with keeping your more organized.
Now you may be asking yourself:
what the heck is a digital asset man? You may be also thinking to yourself, I barely can use my home PC and the forum software on these foums, The last thing I need to do is get involved in another website / platform to only feel stupid and lost
Well, let me first explain what a Digital Asset even is, but let me first ask you something. Do you remember the good ole days when you would take pictures with your 35mm or even 110 style film camera? Do you remember how you would have to bring them down to a local photo developer and then you would have to even pay to have your film developed?I mean if you wanted doubles they would even cost you extra, man are some of us glad those expensive days are gone, I know I sure am. But you could possibly be bit younger and might have missed those good ole days, well, you might have heard your parents talking about that stuff. I mean just think, in the ole days like I mentioned you had 35mm and then even after you got them developed you would have picture negatives. So do you think this will really help my business?
Yes, I sure do. I am now going to describe to you a few ways I am going to be using this online platform to help my business grow. Of course there are tons of ways to use the RIDGIDConnect tool and its not just for plumbers or pool guys, it can be used by anyone that has customers and also has pictures. So let me give you two quick examples of what I will be doing with the RIDGIDConnect online job report tool. Also, I will be about more things you can do as well, but really how long could one article possibly be.

Reminding Customers Of Service:
Like I mentioned above, I open and close swimming pools every year, So when arrive at the customers home to open or close the swimming pool, I usually take pictures of the pool and all of the equipment for the benefit of the customer and also to protect myself. Now with the RIDGIDConnect system, I can upload the pictures from my mobile phone, my laptop in the truck or when I get home I can use my desktop.
So lets say I open and closed a customers pool last season and I have some pictures of the pool opening and closing. These pictures are before and after shots of each service performed. Now what I can do is upload those pictures to RIDGIDConnect and create a job report. In this job report I can write what every I want to the customer, I can then attach pictures to the report. Then I can email the report to the customer reminding them of my great service that I offer. I mean you could still go the old fashion route and send all your customers line cards via snail main and hope they read them or you can get with the times and send them an email that they will most likely read within a few hours, as everyone is on the computer these days.

Real Time On The Job Update For Your Customers:
Okay, so let’s say your going to do a customers job when they are not home but they would really like to see what you are doing. How about if you are working on a clients home and they live out of state and want daily updates. Well, guess what? Yep, you guessed it, with you know who, RIDGIDConnect you can create job reports from the job, and on the fly anytime you want.
Let’s say the customer or real estate calls and they need pictures and updates fast. You could take your digital camera take some jobsite pictures, upload the pictures from your PC, then you could include the information that is being requested and send the email in seconds to your client.
